Who we are

Our Store

The Busy Beaver is a home-based business. The majority of the retail business is direct sales at knive exhibitions, fairs and shows, both National and International. The second part of the company is the mail order department as represented through this catalogue. If you experience any delay in response, please assume that the Beaver is travelling to present the collection. at one show or another.

If you would like to receive an invitation to attend one of the events (antique, fine art, hunting, shooting or country) near you, please just send an email with your request and your address. Often the show's director allows us to mail a complementary or discount entry ticket. If not, then you will be notified about the show. Naturally, your entry charges will be refunded when you spend £50 with The Beaver.

Regrettably experience has shown in such a specialized business an "open" retail shop is not a realistic economic option..... However, should you want to see and compare a few items before purchasing certainly something can be arranged.

Availability

You understand that custom knives are individual items. Every item pictured is presently available. When a knife is sold, it is immediately removed from the listings. The more current your catalogue, the more likely that the knive is available for you.

Should your selection not be available, you will be telephoned for alternative choices, options or other suggestions.

Warnings & Suggestions

Not only is a fine knife Beautiful, collectible, and an object to hold and admire; it is sharp. Please think and act responsibly with your knives.

Knives are known for theit ability to walk around. When the knife is 'in use' it is either in your habd or in the sheath?jacket pocket. Knives placed on almost any surface have a tendency to walk off.....

You may recall a family member who was always sharpening his treasured knife. Todays improved metallurgy of kniofe steel and Damascus used in the blades make frequent sharpening a thing of the past. Few individuals will actually dull a blade through use. Should a knife become 'dull' it is rcommended that it be polished rather than sharpened, ground or any other treatment. Just as you would not trust your Porsche to the local garage, a fine knife should not be given to just anybody for sharpening. Don't allow your fine knives to be damaged by either improper or over sharpening.

No shooter would think of putting away his rifle or shotgun before cleaning it. Knives, too, appreciate a rub-down and a bit of oil before being placed in storage. The Beaver uses Renaissance cleaner and wax on his inventory and his personal collection.
